It’s true. There are 8 million stories in the Naked City. And, as the saying goes, this is one of them. But some stick with you more than others. And this is one of those.
I remember the head of my kid’s preschool explaining to me that what really matters in choosing your child’s elementary school education is if you can stand the other parents or not. Thankfully, we seemed to have made the right choice in that regard. We have been blessed with a great crew of fellow parents — including two dads named Matt.
I won’t spoil the story for you, but this is a good reminder that a little miscommunication can cause a lot of confusion. But, as the other saying goes, all’s well that ends well. Right? Right right.
Happy Holidays and here’s looking to a joyous 2024 with a little less confusion and a lot more love and understanding. Peace ✌🏼 ❤️.
Post Script: In an amazing turn of events, when thinking about an outro song for this audio story, I immediately thought of another friend of mine, Matt Ostrower, and his band, Innis Rowe, in particular, their song, “The Balance,” which I haven’t been able to keep out of my head since I first heard it a few months back. Matt, being a Matt — which really just means being a stand-up dude always up for helping out a friend in need — allowed me to use his bit of brilliance which really captures the general mood beautifully.
Thank you all to all the Matts in this story for working with me on this, humoring me, and just being good people. The world needs more of you : )
